Renowned as the expert of Character Education for children up to the age of 12, JEMS Learning House held its 3rd Graduation Ceremony cum Community Fundraiser Event on the 30th of June 2012. Based on the three core values covered by JEMS Learning House – “Identity”, “Relationships” and “Community” – the students of its annual programme discovered their uniqueness and own identity, and learned to develop strong relationships with people, via a great variety of activities and lessons. JEMS students were then given an opportunity to round the semester up by putting what had been taught into practice and working together to contribute to the community. Held on the 30th of June, the JEMS Graduation Ceremony cum Community Fundraiser Event was initiated by 150 students aged 3 to 12, each of them giving their best with the sole purpose of raising funds for  the SAHK B M Kotewall Memorial School. The hard work of students paid off with an encouraging figure, as over HKD100,000 was raised at this fundraising event.

The JEMS Graduation Ceremony cum Community Fundraiser Event attracted an attendance of about 400 guests. The event was kicked off by a welcome speech delivered by Ms Christine Ma, Founder and Principal of JEMS Learning House. Then, Principal Chow of the SAHK B M Kotewall Memorial School expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the JEMS students for their endeavours in the preparation of the fundraising event. Dr Connie Wong, renowned pianist and winner of the Top Ten Outstanding Young Persons of Hong Kong 2010, was then invited on stage to share her story about conquering difficulties and striving for becoming a pianist. Apart from performing herself, Dr Wong also brought along her student Eunice Kan to perform to the audience. While the audience were indulged with the touching notes that Dr Wong and Eunice presented, foot artist Chan Tung Mui was invited on stage to share the message of “God is love”.

Apart from the sensational stage performances, a number of fundraising booths were set up at the venue by the students. A total of over HKD100,000 was raised for the SAHK B M Kotewall Memorial School. After the Fundraiser was closed, all the students attended the Graduation Ceremony to celebrate their year-long achievement in the accompaniment of parents, relatives and friends.

Ms Christine Ma, Principal of JEMS Learning House was gratified by the students’ dedication, “JEMS Learning House strives to inspire children to be compassionate and thankful and thereby equip them to be a junior leader to serve our community. The success of this meaningful event should be credited to this group of young children as they have spent a long time on preparing and working closely with each other to come up with what we see now. I am delighted to see them round up the Annual Programme by putting lessons learnt such as compassion, teamwork, communication and responsibility into practice. We are all so proud of them! I sincerely hope that the students can exercise what they have learnt at JEMS in their daily lives and act as ‘Junior Excellent Members of Society’.”

The upcoming JEMS Annual Programme is now open for application. To sign up for free trial classes, please call 3188-1516.
