去年由品格教育協會首辦的「香港品格日」，獲得社會各界的熱烈迴響，今年繼往開來，「2017香港品格日」定於9月13日隆重揭幕，支持機構包括：一口田慈善教育基金、JEMS Learning House、香港有品運動、和富社會企業、寰宇希望、香港明愛家庭服務及奧美公關。藉著舉辦「2017香港品格日」，品格教育協會與社會上關注品格教育的有心人共同努力，廣傳培養品格的重要信息。 常言道：「聰明是一種天賦，善良是一種選擇。」「2017香港品格日」的主題為「善良Kindness」，並以「選擇善良」為口號，提醒大家在待人處事上心存善念。品格教育協會相信，每一個人天生都有善良的素質，是否發揮，如何發揮，是今次希望透過「2017香港品格日」鼓勵大家去好好思考的課題。品格教育協會今年有幸邀請到七位社會名人擔任活動大使，包括：全國人大代表陳智思先生，GBS，JP、香港社會創投基金創辦人及社會企業Green Monday聯合創辦人魏華星先生、正生書院校長陳兆焯先生、鮮魚行學校前校長梁紀昌先生、救狗之家創辦人Sally Andersen女士、深水埗北河燒臘飯店東主陳灼明先生及著名歌手鄭秀文女士，眾人的善心善舉向來深入民心，今年將肩負起「香港品格日大使」的重任，為活動拍攝宣傳短片，分享對「善良」的看法，推動社會大眾一同「選擇善良」。 品格教育協會創會主席劉馬露明教授分享：「首屆『香港品格日』只有數個月的籌備時間，卻獲得超過200家學校及機構參加，成績令人喜出望外。今年我們的主題是『善良』，其實香港的好人好事實在多不勝數，幾位『香港品格日大使』更是義不容辭地全力支持我們的活動，在此，我首先代表大會向他們致以衷誠的謝意。相信憑藉各位大使在社會上的影響力，將能推動更多人關注『2017香港品格日』及香港的品格教育工作。期望今年活動能再下一城，得到更多市民支持，讓善良的美事遍地開花！」 品格教育協會誠邀全港學校及機構一同參與「2017香港品格日」。有意參與的團體只需登上www.characterday.hk填妥網上報名表格，並在2017年9月13日至2018年5月31日期間完成以下步驟：
品格教育協會將於揭幕禮派發品格套裝，內附宣傳海報、手冊及存有相關電子檔案的光碟。公眾人士亦請密切留意協會的網上社交媒體活動，攜手「選擇善良」！

Following the tremendous success of the first Character Day Hong Kong launched last year, the Character Education Foundation is delighted to announce that 2017 Character Day Hong Kong will be kicked off on the 13th of September with the support from the following organisations: Seedland Educational Charitable Foundation, JEMS Learning House, Hong Kong Character City, Wofoo Social Enterprises, HOPE worldwide, Hong Kong Caritas Family Service and Ogilvy. It is via shared efforts that devoted parties and individuals who share the same goal will work together to arouse the awareness of fostering good character in the city. There is a saying, “Cleverness is a gift, Kindness is a choice.” 2017 Character Day Hong Kong has selected “Kindness” as its theme and “Choose Kindness” as the slogan, to remind everyone of the importance of promoting kind acts in everyday life. Character Education Foundation believes that everyone is born with the gift of kindness, and everyone has a choice to decide whether to utilise it and how to utilise it. The Foundation is much honoured to have invited seven ambassadors, including Mr. Bernard Chan, GBS, JP, Hong Kong Deputy to the National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China; Mr. Francis Ngai, Founder of Social Ventures Hong Kong and Co-founder of Green Monday; Mr. Alman Chan, Principal of Christian Zheng Sheng College; Mr. Leung Kee-cheong, Former Principal of Fresh Fish Traders’ School; Ms Sally Andersen, Founder of Hong Kong Dog Rescue; Mr. Chan Cheuk-ming, Owner of Pei Ho Barbecue Restaurant in Sham Shui Po; and Ms Sammi Cheng, renowned singer, to endorse the event. Well-known for their good deeds in society, the seven ambassadors will share their insights on the theme “Kindness” in the upcoming promotional clips and encourage the public to “Choose Kindness”. Prof. Christine Ma-Lau, Founding Chairperson of Character Education Foundation, shared, “We are pleasantly surprised by the enthusiastic participation in last year’s event. Within a very short period of time, we were able to gain support from more than 200 schools and organisations. ‘Kindness’ has been selected as this year’s theme as we believe that there is in fact a countless number of kind people and kind acts in the city. Sincere thanks to the seven ambassadors who whole-heartedly support our event. With their influence, we are certain to garner more support for 2017 Character Day Hong Kong as well as for character education. Let’s cheer for the success of this year’s event, and hope that with everyone’s effort the virtue of kindness will flourish in the city.” Character Education Foundation sincerely invites schools and organisations to take part in 2017 Character Day Hong Kong. Character Education Foundation will distribute “character kits”, which include a poster, handbook and CD with the relevant electronic materials at the kick-off ceremony.
