(Paint it! The Coffee Cup Art!)

The 4th “Paint it! The Coffee Cup Art!” campaign, organised by Pacific Coffee and Seedland Educational Charitable Foundation, and fully supported by the HKTDC Hong Kong Book Fair, aims to raise fund for “Music Children Foundation” to support its charitable cause of providing free music education for underprivileged children in Hong Kong. Participants were invited to paint the paper cups in the theme of “A Birthday Wish – Music for Everyone”, inspired by the birthday wish of Pacific Coffee on its 28th anniversary to introduce music to children and foster a life-long interest in them. The campaign is divided into the “Aged 15 or below” category and “Aged above 15” category, while the champion from each category will be awarded with a scholarship and the winning artwork will be used on the design of the tall and grande size Anniversary paper cups respectively. With each tall or grande size hot Brewed Coffee bearing the award-winning designs sold in July 2020, Pacific Coffee will donate $1 to the beneficiary to support its charitable cause. In August 2020, donation boxes will be available at Pacific Coffee coffeehouses* in Hong Kong to collect cash donation for Music Children Foundation.

The competition received an overwhelming response of entries from students, teachers and parents of Music Children Foundation. The judging panel, consisting of Mr. Jonathan Somerville, Chief Executive Officer, Pacific Coffee (Hong Kong & Overseas), Ms Annike Pong, Co-founder and Executive Director of Music Children Foundation, Ms Amanda Lau, Member of the Board of Governors of Music Children Foundation, Dr. Peter Cheung, renowned musician and his wife Ms Eugina Lau, Ms Helena Hui, Chairperson of Seedland Educational Charitable Foundation and Ms Dury Chin, Deputy Head of Creative, Hong Kong Trade Development Council, reviewed hundreds of paper cups, and picked the Champion, First Runner-up, Second Runner-up and winners of the Creativity Award from the “Aged 15 or below” category and “Aged above 15” category. The design of Leung Yik Hong, Champion of the “Aged 15 or below” category, will be featured on tall size paper cups, whereas the design of Wu Caiqun, Champion of the “Aged above 15” category, will be featured on grande size paper cups. With each tall or grande size hot Brewed Coffee bearing the award-winning designs sold in July 2020, Pacific Coffee will donate $1 to Music Children Foundation to support its charitable cause of providing free musical education to underprivileged children in Hong Kong.

To celebrate the creativity of young artists, an award ceremony will be held in the afternoon of 17th July 2020, the third exhibition day of Hong Kong Book Fair at the stage at Children Paradise, Hall 3B, Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Winning designs of the Champions, First runners-up, Second runners-up and Creativity Award winners from both the “Aged 15 or below” category and “Aged above 15” category will be displayed at the Family Corner of Hong Kong Book Fair from 15th to 21st July 2020.
