AfterSchool發揮社企職能 提供免費學額予陳校長免費補習天地
並歡迎補天和各路義師加入 服務基層學生 發展個人事業 一舉兩得

成立於2018年的AfterSchool，是全港最大的網上補習平台，聯合創始人謝志峰及王偉峰的心願是為莘莘學子提供更全面及更高效的學習支援，並照顧基層學生，與陳葒校長創立陳校長免費補習天地（補天）以爭取「教育平等」的理念不謀而合，故以社會企業形式經營AfterSchool，除了收費相宜之外，更設義補服務，歡迎基層學生免費報讀，全費學生對免費學生的名額比例為2:1。
補習界有心人相遇，攜手為基層學生出力。AfterSchool與陳校長免費補習天地隆重宣佈，雙方達成合作協議，AfterSchool將於本年5月開始，為陳校長補習天地的學生提供免費網上補習服務。與此同時，補天義師在繼續服務補天的學生的同時，如有興趣進一步發展補習教學事業，樂於增聘兼具實力與熱誠的老師的AfterSchool亦非常歡迎他們加入。以上的安排，既鞏固對基層學生的學習支援，又能匯聚有意在教育界進一步發展的有志之士，幫助他們發展個人事業，同時增進AfterSchool的人力資源，達至「三贏」目標。
陳校長免費補習天地創辦人陳葒校長表示：「補天多年來為基層學生提供學習支援，以爭取學習權利的平等，以及在學習中進步成長的權利平等。多年來幸獲一眾義師支持，現已有超過15,000多名學生受惠。然而，需要支援的學生人數眾多，我樂見更多教育有心人加入免費支援學生的行列，群策群力，服務基層。是次跟AfterSchool合作，就是建基於照顧基層學生的共同理念及基礎。與此同時，有志於教育界進一步發展的義師，也可以考慮發展補習為個人事業，同時繼續服務補天的學生，可謂兩全其美，相得益彰。」

有關陳校長免費補習天地
「陳校長免費補習天地」於2011年由陳葒校長創立，為有經濟困難的弱勢學童免費提供一對一補習服務及學習支援。創辦人陳葒校長原為直資中學校長，卻有感現時的教育制度未能為弱勢兒童及青少年提供公平接受教育的機會，遂於2009年放棄高薪厚職，辭去校長一職並創辦「陳校長免費補習天地」，招募義師，免費為弱勢學童提供一對一補習服務及學習支援，至今已有超過15,000多名學生獲成功配對。2013年，陳校長為基層兒童增設免費學前教育及才藝訓練班，以實現「教育平等」的理念，參加人數達6,000人次。陳校長堅持「有教無類」的信念，致力改善當前的教育風氣，2017年獲香港教育大學頒授榮譽院士銜，以表彰他多年的貢獻。
有關AfterSchool
於2018年成立的網上補習平台AfterSchool，是全港最大網上補習平台，以社企形式營運。現由約50名導師提供逾200個針對中三至中六學生的課程，涵蓋中文、英文、數學（包括延伸課程M1和M2）、通識、物理、化學、生物、經濟、歷史、企會財、資訊及通訊科技和視覺藝術共14個學科，註冊用戶人數達50,000人，當中超過四分之一學生為應屆文憑試考生。其創新理念及商業模式，曾勇奪2017年香港社會企業挑戰賽亞軍及「我最喜愛的社企計劃」、星展銀行與新加坡國立大學合辦的2018年亞洲社會企業挑戰賽Experian Powering Opportunities Award、2018年「創青春」全國大學生創業大賽，以及YDC「敢闖。敢創」創業比賽等獎項。

AfterSchool fulfils its role as a social enterprise by providing complimentary services for the students of Principal Chan Free Tutorial World and inviting its volunteer teachers to join AfterSchool if they are interested in developing a career in tutoring while serving underprivileged students

Established in 2018, AfterSchool is now the largest online tutoring platform in Hong Kong. In perfect coincidence with Principal Chan Hung’s mission to achieve “equality in education” when he established Principal Chan Free Tutorial World, Ronald Tse and Raymond Wong, Co-founders of AfterSchool, aim to provide comprehensive and efficient learning support for students, and a fair chance of learning for all. Run as a social enterprise, AfterSchool offers courses at reasonable tuition fees, and provides free tutoring services for students from low-income families, in the ratio of two paid student to one complimentary student.
It is with much delight that AfterSchool and Principal Chan Free Tutorial World join hands to announce the collaboration that brings new opportunities to students in need. Starting from May 2021, AfterSchool will provide free online tutoring services for students of Principal Chan Free Tutorial World. At the same time, volunteer teachers of Principal Chan Free Tutorial World who are interested in developing a career in tutoring are welcome to join the passionate team of AfterSchool, thus enriching their career path while continuing to serve the students of Principal Chan Free Tutorial World. The initiative not only strengthens the support in learning for underprivileged students, but also assembles aspired educators for their career development while upgrading AfterSchool’s human resources, hence achieving a win-win-win situation.
Principal Chan Hung remarked, “Principal Chan Free Tutorial World is devoted to providing learning support for underprivileged students, striving to defend their rights in equal learning opportunities that facilitate their growth and advancement. Thanks to the cordial support of our volunteer teachers, more than 15,000 students have received free tutorial services from us. Yet, the demand for educational support is always on the rise and I am delighted to join hands with new forces with the same goal in providing complimentary learning support to students in need. Our collaboration with AfterSchool is built on our shared philosophy of serving students from low-income families. Meanwhile, volunteer teachers who have a passion for teaching could consider developing a career in tutoring while continuing to help students of Principal Chan Free Tutorial World, making the best of both routes.”
Raymond Wong said, “We concur entirely with Principal Chan’s concern that many underprivileged students are not receiving sufficient learning support, which will in turn affect their performance in examinations, hence the opportunity of furthering their studies. It gives AfterSchool, a social enterprise, every reason to offer free tutoring services for the students of Principal Chan Free Tutorial World. On the other hand, due to our rapid development, AfterSchool is in demand of passionate teachers, hence we welcome the volunteer teachers of Principal Chan Free Tutorial World who are interested in developing a career in tutoring to explore the opportunity of joining the teaching team of AfterSchool. In order to maintain the sustainability of our social enterprise, we make an agreement with our tutors specifying that their duty includes providing free services for students from low-income families; in return, AfterSchool guarantees to provide a salary higher than the market level to the tutors while taking care of all administration work, training, marketing and promotion, allowing our teaching staff to focus on helping students and improving their teaching quality.”

About Principal Chan Free Tutorial World
Established in 2011 by Principal Chan Hung, Principal Chan Free Tutorial World (PCFTW) provides free one-to-one tutoring service and learning support to underprivileged students with financial difficulties. Realising that the education system now is not capable of providing equal opportunity in education for underprivileged students and teenagers, Principal Chan, originally a principal of a Direct Subsidy Scheme School, gave up his title and high salary in 2009 to establish PCFTW and invite voluntary teacher to provide free one-to-one tutoring service and learning support to underprivileged students, over 15,000 students have been benefitted so far. In 2013, Principal Chan extended the services with free pre-school education and talent training classes for low-income students in order to achieve “equality in education”, attracting over 6,000 people to participate. Determined to leave no child behind, Principal Chan strives to ameliorate the current trend in education. He has been conferred with an Honorary Fellowship by the Education University of Hong Kong in 2017 for his contribution over the years.
About AfterSchool
Established in 2018, AfterSchool is now the largest online tutoring platform in Hong Kong. About 50 tutors are currently tutoring over 200 courses in 14 subjects, covering Chinese Language, English Language, Mathematics (including M1 and M2), Liberal Studies, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Economics, History, BAFS, ICT, and Visual Arts for Form Three to Form Six students.
