「愛心相連大行動」籌款活動
「加埋」逾8千名市民 為人道添力量

(香港 2015年3月3日) 香港紅十字會的年度籌款活動「愛心相連大行動」於2014年11月啟動至今年1月成功「加埋」逾8,000名市民參加，他們以不同形式加入我們的人道行列，為本會推行人道服務注入正能量，將愛和希望帶給弱勢社群。

一如以往，義賣迪迪熊是「愛心相連大行動」的活動焦點，今年逾1,200名義工於寒冬中服務了超過4,440小時，並於140個外展義賣站進行義賣。活動共售出逾11,000件『迪迪熊義賣產品』-「迪迪熊雨傘」及「迪迪手暖手包」，成績卓越。而今屆特別增設的「加埋你」活動更成功獲得超過7,000名市民的支持，包括前往「加埋你」流動車專綫按鈕支持以及響應活動FACEBOOK專頁的推廣，宣揚「愛與分享」的訊息。是次慈善活動一共為本會籌得接近港幣270萬元，以助延續各項人道工作。

為表揚及感謝各捐款者、傑出義工、參與學校及機構，本會今天 (3月3日) 舉行嘉許禮，由本會總監任錦光先生，以及各贊助及支持單位代表，向表現傑出的參與者頒發獎項 (嘉許禮得獎名單見附件)。典禮更邀得影視藝人朱慧敏小姐出席。

在嘉許禮上，朱慧敏邀請觀眾大玩「慈善愛心數字配對卡」遊戲，令現場增添不少歡樂。朱慧敏表示︰「今天非常高興能夠參與嘉許禮，對著一眾熱心幫人的義工，感到十分鼓舞。期望大家能夠繼續支持活動，體驗義務工作之喜悅。」

香港紅十字會總監任錦光先生指出「愛心相連大行動」是本會其中一個年度重點籌款活動。「活動舉行了12屆，今年更以「加埋你」作號召，期望邀請更多市民以不同形式支持本會各項人道工作，藉著大眾的力量幫助更多有需要的人士，讓香港成為一個充滿愛與關懷的地方。」

“Pass-it-On 2014” Charity Campaign
Over 8,000 joined in to support Humanity

(Hong Kong, 3 March 2015) The Hong Kong Red Cross (HKRC) annual fundraising campaign “Pass-it-On 2014” has successfully engaged more than 8,000 people over the last three-month in supporting the HKRC’s humanitarian works through different forms, empowering humanity so as to bring hope and love to the needy community.

More than 1,200 volunteers braved the cold winter to help in the charity sale of the “Pass-it-On 2014” Campaign. They have contributed over 4,440 service hours altogether in 140 outreach counters. This year, the campaign achieved in selling over 11,000 iconic charity products – Reddie Bear Umbrellas and Reddie Bear Hand Warmers, which generated nearly HK$2.7 million for the HKRC to develop and sustain the humanitarian services. Under the new campaign slogan this year, the “Plus You” activities engaged over 7,000 people from different sectors of society to support, including giving a pledge at “Plus You” Moving Truck and sharing the “Plus You” message at Pass-it-On Facebook Fan page.

To express our sincere gratitude to all supporters of Pass-it-On 2014, the HKRC staged the Award Presentation Ceremony today to thank the donors, outstanding volunteers, participating schools and corporations for supporting the Campaign. Mr Allen Yam, Director of the HKRC, together with sponsors and supporting partners, presented over 100 awards in different categories (Award Winner list as attached). Ms Queenie Chu, local TV actress, joined the Award Presentation as a special guest to share the happiness of the awardees.

Queenie invited the audience at the Award Presentation to join an exciting matching game to ravel the donation figures, which brought lots of amusement to the audience. Queenie said, “I am very pleased to present at the Award Presentation today and feel so encouraging to meet many devoted volunteers that worked together for helping others. I wish everyone can continue to support the campaign and enjoy the blessing of volunteering.”

Mr Allen Yam emphasized that the Pass-it-On Charity Campaign has become an iconic annual fundraising event of the HKRC. “The campaign has walked through 12 years, we hope to invite more members of the public to join our force in the humanitarian services under this year slogan’s “Plus You”, and through the collective efforts to help more people in need, giving Hong Kong with lots of love and care.

Aiming to raise funds in support of the humanitarian work of the Hong Kong Red Cross and to promote the “Share and Care” spirit amongst people, the HKRC has been organizing the Pass-it-On Campaign since 2003. The charity campaign has become one of HKRC’s key annual fundraising events. It encourages people to care not only for their families and friends, but also for those close and afar who are less fortunate and in need. It emphasises the power of joining hands, that when we all put ourselves together, an enormous loving power can be accumulated to help those who are in need. It is a fundraising campaign that relies on this “pass-it-on effect” amongst people to spread the “share and care” spirit.
