The second runners-up of the “Best Dressed Award Competition” were a family. They especially designed a set of T-shirts for the walkathon, whose backs were printed with the word “LOVE”.

國際培幼會「培您童行」步行籌款圓滿舉行
國際培幼會大使著名藝人鄭伊健、蘇玉華偕國際培幼會董事局主席周文耀先生、

今年是國際培幼會成立75周年的大日子,為籌募經費幫助中國、柬埔寨及非洲肯尼亞的兒童改善生活環境,培幼會特別舉辦「培您童行」步行籌款,並於本年3月4日假香港海洋公園盛大舉行。活動吸引數百名愛心人士參與,支持培幼會幫助兒童的工作。步行籌款設有個人及團隊最高籌款額獎各三名,另設三名最優秀造型獎,為隆重其事,大會分別為步行籌款舉行了啟步禮及頒獎典禮,出席嘉賓包括國際培幼會大使鄭伊健先生、國際培幼會大使蘇玉華小姐、國際培幼會(香港)董事局主席周文耀,GBS,太平紳士、四位國際培幼會(香港)董事局成員Ms Michelle Guthrie、Mr Kerry McGlynn、海洋公園行政總裁苗樂文先生、國際培幼會前受助人立法會議員陳茂波先生、兩位國際培幼會「愛.女孩」大使鄭麗莎小姐及馬露明小姐、國際培幼會(香港)行政總裁詹文利先生及海洋公園吉祥物「威威獅令」,場面盛大。

是日早上七時,國際培幼會董事局主席周文耀,GBS,太平紳士、國際培幼會董事局成員 Ms Michelle Guthrie、國際培幼會前受助人立法會議員陳茂波先生、國際培幼會「愛.女孩」大使鄭麗莎小姐、國際培幼會「愛.女孩」大使馬露明小姐、國際培幼會行政總裁詹文利先生及海洋公園吉祥物「威威獅令」,齊集於海洋公園正門海洋廣場,為數百名充滿愛心的參加者打氣,隨着簡單的起步禮儀式及嘉賓合照過後,步行活動正式開始。參加者由海洋公園全新正門──海洋廣場出發,途經海洋奇觀、夢幻水都人工湖、大熊貓之旅、海洋列車、海洋摩天塔、瘋狂過山車,以及雀鳥劇場等,並於早上九時前抵達終點站威威劇場。

隨着參加者完成指定的步行路線,頒獎禮亦正式開始,司儀先後邀請了國際培幼會董事局主席周文耀,GBS,太平紳士及海洋公園行政總裁苗樂文先生為頒獎禮致辭。其後,國際培幼會前受助人立法會議員陳茂波先生及兩位國際培幼會「愛.女孩」大使鄭麗莎小姐及馬露明小姐一同分享對活動的感受。隨後,國際培幼會行政總裁詹文利先生向多個支持機構的代表致送紀念品,包括海洋公園、歌帝梵巧克力、香格里拉酒店集團、活動銀贊助商酩悅軒尼詩及活動金贊助商黃色小鴨PIYO PIYO的香港代理──萬利洋行(國際)有限公司。活動金贊助的代表、國際培幼會前受助人吳偉明先生亦就此機會分享感受。緊接其後便是頒獎儀式,由海洋公園行政總裁苗樂文先生頒發三名個人最高籌款額獎、國際培幼會大使蘇玉華小姐頒發三隊團隊最高籌款額獎,並由國際培幼會大使鄭伊健先生頒發三名最優秀造型獎。為感謝兩位大使的支持,國際培幼會董事局主席周文耀,GBS,太平紳士亦向兩位致送感謝狀。其後,九位嘉賓再次齊集台上,並聯同國際培幼會董事局成員Ms Michelle Guthrie、Mr Kerry McGlynn,以及海洋公園吉祥物「威威獅令」一同拍攝大合照,整個活動在一片歡樂聲中圓滿結束。

國際培幼會董事局主席周文耀,GBS,太平紳士表示:「全賴社會各界鼎力支持,活動才得以順利進行,在此再次感謝各個協辦單位,尤其是海洋公園特別為活動借出場地之用。國際培幼會在全球各地發展有關教育、醫療、清潔食水、保護兒童、經濟支援等項目,而是次步行籌款便為中國、柬埔寨及非洲肯尼亞的項目籌募經費,相信遠方的孩子絕對能感受到大家的支持和愛心!」

海洋公園行政總裁苗樂文先生說:「海洋公園一直致力發展動物保育、研究,並積極建立社區關係,向公眾提供具有教育和保育性質的綜合娛樂體驗。我們很高興能與國際培幼會合作,希望藉着是次活動,能喚起香港社會對落後地區兒童權益的關注。步行籌款是個對身心有益的活動,希望大家也可樂在其中,好好享受在海洋公園這別具意義的一天。」

國際培幼會大使鄭伊健先生說:「我非常認同國際培幼會『長遠改善兒童生活』的宗旨,不但為有需要的小朋友改善醫療服務,更會提供免費教育,幫助他們長遠地脫貧,這是個非常高膽遠矚及實際的方法。很高興今天在這裏見到大家,也希望在未來的日子,大家仍能繼續支持國際培幼會的工作。」

國際培幼會大使蘇玉華小姐說:「跟隨國際培幼會到柬埔寨探訪過後,深切體會到當地的孩子非常需要大家的幫助,是次步行籌款正是個難得的機會,讓我們把這份祝福傳到這些孩子手中,實際改善他們的生活。」

Plan International Hong Kong “Walk for Children” at Ocean Park Hong Kong ended with success and joy, renowned artists and Plan Ambassadors Mr Ekin Cheng and Miss Louisa So joined the management of Plan International Hong Kong and Ocean Park at the Prize Presentation Ceremony

This year marks the 75th anniversary of Plan International. To commemorate this special year and to give a helping hand to needy children in China, Cambodia and Kenya in Africa, Plan International Hong Kong has co-organised “Walk for Children” with Ocean Park, which was held on 4th March 2012. Hundreds of participants have enrolled for the walk, to support underprivileged children. There were three “Best Dressed Awards” as well as awards for the top three teams and top three participants who raised the highest amount of donation. On this big day, a Kick-off Ceremony and a Prize Presentation Ceremony were held in Ocean Park Hong Kong. Mr Ekin Cheng, Plan Ambassador; Miss Louisa So, Plan Ambassador; Mr Paul Chow, GBS, JP, Board Chairman of Plan International Hong Kong; Ms Michelle Guthrie and Mr Kerry McGlynn, Board Members of Plan International Hong Kong; Mr Thomas Mehrmann, Chief Executive Officer of Ocean Park; Miss Lisa Cheng, BIAAG Ambassador and Miss Christine Ma, BIAAG Ambassador; Mr Paul Chan, Ex-beneficiary of Plan International Hong Kong; James Murray, Chief Executive Officer of Plan International Hong Kong and Whiskers, the mascot of Ocean Park, attended to officiate the ceremonies.

On 4th March at 7am, Mr Paul Chow, Ms Michelle Guthrie, Mr Paul Chan, Miss Lisa Cheng, Miss Christine Ma, Mr James Murray and Whiskers gathered at the Ocean Square of Ocean Park to cheer up hundreds of participants and officiate the Kick-off Ceremony. The walk started right afterward. The route began at Ocean Square, passing various attractions of the Park, such as Grand Aquarium, Aqua City Lagoon, Giant Panda Adventure, Ocean Express, Ocean Park Tower, The Dragon, the Amazing Bird Theatre, and reach the destination – Whiskers Theatre before 9am.

The arrival of participants marks the beginning of the Prize Presentation Ceremony. The master of the ceremony invited Mr Paul Chow and Mr Thomas Mehrmann to give a speech for the walk respectively. A sharing session was followed, with Mr Paul Chan and two Plan BIAAG Ambassadors Miss Lisa Cheng and Miss Christine Ma being the guests. After the sharing session, James Murray presented the certificates as a token of appreciation from Plan to all representatives of the supporting parties, including Ocean Park, Godiva Chocolatier, Shangri-la Hotel and Resorts, as well as the Silver Sponsor Moet Hennessy and Gold Sponsor C & K Enterprises (International) Ltd. Then, Mr Vincent Ng, representative of Gold Sponsor and Plan’s ex-beneficiary, gave a speech to share his feelings towards Plan International Hong Kong and the walk. Finally it came to the prize presentation time. Mr Thomas Mehrmann presented the Highest Individual Donation Awards; Miss Louisa So presented the Highest Team Donation Awards and Mr Ekin Cheng presented the Best Dressed Awards to the winners. In order to thank Ekin and Louisa’s support, Mr Paul Chow also presented each of them a certificate of appreciation. The whole event ended with success and joy after the group photo-taking session among the nine guests, the board members of Plan International Hong Kong, namely Ms Michelle Guthrie, Mr Kerry McGlynn and Whiskers, the mascot of Ocean Park.

Mr Paul Chow, GBS, JP, Board Chairman of Plan International Hong Kong, said: “The event would not be a success without the support from the general public and various organisations. On behalf of Plan and the needy children, I would like to thank all of you again, especially Ocean Park for their immense generosity and assist in making this event possible. Plan has developed numerous projects to improve children’s life in different aspects including education, health, water and sanitation, protection and economic security around the world, and the funds raised in the ‘Walk for Children’ will support our projects for children in China, Cambodia and Kenya of Africa respectively.”

Mr Thomas Mehrmann, Chief Executive Officer of Ocean Park, said: “Ocean Park has been sparing no efforts in connecting people with nature, and is recognised for its animal husbandry, research and relationship with the community. We aim at offering adults and children experiences that blend entertainment with education and conservation. We are honored to cooperate with Plan, and sincerely hope that ‘Walk for Children’ can arouse the Hong Kong community’s awareness on helping needy children. Today’s walk is a healthy and meaningful event. We wish all the participants enjoy their time and have a joyful day in our park.”

Mr Ekin Cheng, Plan Ambassador, said: “I am always a supporter of Plan’s belief of ‘improving children’s life in long-term’. Plan helps not only the needy children’s medical services, but also provides them free education and thus to lift them out of poverty in a practical way. I am glad to see you all here today and hope that you can continue your support to Plan in the coming days.”

Miss Louisa So, Plan Ambassador, said: “I am really moved by the Cambodia visit with Plan, and I deeply understood that the children there really need our help – urgently! Today’s walk is an invaluable opportunity for us to offer a helping hand. Wish all of our love can spread to these children, and improve their lives soonest.”

During the fiscal year of 2010-2011, Ocean Park maintained a total of 13 social care programmes, with over 450,000 beneficiaries and an aggregate value to the community equivalent to HK$110 million.
