Renowned as the expert of Character Education for children up to the age of 12, JEMS Learning House held its 4th Graduation Ceremony cum Community Fundraiser Event on the 22nd of June 2013. Based on the three core values covered by JEMS Learning House – “Identity”, “Relationships” and “Community” – the students of its annual programme discovered their uniqueness and own identity, and learned to develop strong relationships with people, via a great variety of activities and lessons. JEMS students were then given an opportunity to round the semester up by putting what they had learnt into practice and working together to contribute to the community. The JEMS Graduation Ceremony cum Community Fundraiser Event was initiated by over 150 students aged 3 to 12, each of them giving their best to work towards the goal of raising funds for Hong Kong Association of the Deaf. An encouraging figure – over HKD100,000 was raised at the fundraising event.

The JEMS Graduation Ceremony cum Community Fundraiser Event attracted an attendance of over 400 guests. The event was kicked off by a welcome speech by Ms Christine Ma, Founder and Principal of JEMS Learning House. Mr. Ng Ying Gung, Executive Director of Hong Kong Association of the Deaf, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the JEMS students for their endeavours in the preparation of the fundraising event. The JEMS students then took the stage to present a series of sensational performances including a singing performance “Love is Special” jointly performed by JEMS students and students of Hong Kong Association of the Deaf.

Apart from the heartwarming stage performances, a number of fundraising booths were set up at the venue by the students. A total of over HKD100,000 was raised for Hong Kong Association of the Deaf. After the Fundraiser was closed, a Graduation Ceremony was held to celebrate the students’ year-long achievement in the accompaniment of parents, relatives and friends.

Ms Christine Ma, Principal of JEMS Learning House was gratified by the students’ dedication, “JEMS Learning House strives to inspire children to be compassionate and thankful and thereby equip them to be ‘Junior Excellent Members of Society’. The success of today’s event should be credited to this group of young children as they have spent a long time on preparing and working closely with each other to come up with what we see now. I am delighted to see them round up the Annual Programme by putting lessons learnt such as compassion, teamwork, communication and responsibility into practice. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the parents and guests who have supported the Fundraiser as well as our mission in helping the children to build proper values and characters.”

The upcoming JEMS Annual Programme is now open for application. To sign up for free trial classes, please call 3188-1516.
